Traditionally the job of a financial manager has been very popular with MBA graduates. You can become a financial manager at a company if you have an MBA/equivalent qualification in Finance. Some of the institutions that appoint financial managers are investment banks, corporations and securities firms. Financial managers can also pursue careers in the consulting industry.

Financial Analysts

Financial analysts play an important role in mergers and expansion. As they are highly qualified professionals with an MBA in finance they will have specialized knowledge in these areas. This knowledge helps a financial analyst maximize the profits of his company and reduce risks. For mergers and acquisitions many companies seek the service of globally active consulting firms which have several financial analysts working for them.

Accounting Managers

The job of an accounting manager involves the creation of tax reporting and management. They also create income statements inside of controller and audit groups. While an accounting manager focuses on financial reporting, a financial manager focuses on strategy and money management.

Qualified accounting managers can reach positions of corporate treasurer, corporate controller or Chief Financial Officer. They can also function as independent audit or tax consultants. A master’s degree in accounting/finance or an MBA in finance will give you a head start in this career.

Investment Bankers

Investment bankers work with corporations that need financial capital and institutions or investors who have money available to invest. The job of an investment banker is to give investment advice to his or her client regarding raising capital. An MBA in Finance is an indispensable qualification to enter this field.
